December Favourites

Every year I promise myself that I will do a New Years Resolution and complete it, however, like you might have guessed that has never yet happened. So this year for the beginning of 2014 I have decided on one after several days of thinking. Why not try and work more on my blog and youtube videos? Writing is my passion, so it makes sense to do it as a new years resolution (especially as I am NOT giving up chocolate any time soon!) So I decided to start it with my favourite "Monthly Favourites" will it be regular? who knows? will I even finish this post? who knows... (excuse the poor quality, I have no idea whatsoever how to transfer photos etc)

I've only chosen my 6 favourite products as I have barely spent any money on myself in December and have had barely enough time to try out all my Christmas Presents.
The Favourites are:

  • L-Oreal Paris Colour Riche Collection Privee - Evas Nude (£8.19 here)
  • Tangle Teezer Orange - (£10.99 here)
  • Soap and Glory Butter Yourself Moisture Lotion (£10.00 here)
  • Miss Dior Eau De Parfum 50ml (£65.50 here)
  • Sleek Face Form - Light (£9.99 here)
  • Urban Decay Naked 2 Eyeshadow Palette (£37.00 here)

I recently bought this lipstick in a Car Boot Sale from a stand selling brand new make up all reduced (no idea why!) and managed to get it for £2 which for a L'Oreal Lipstick, you cannot argue about. I had no idea what it looked like as I was not allowed to swatch it or even open it, though when I finally did I was pleasently surprised. The " Barely Golden" shade is a warm pink nude, with a hint of gold added giving a nice sun kissed look. The lipstick itself lasts a long time dependent on how much is applied and is a perfect shade for not only golden, but fair complexions also. (I did have a swatch though I was unable to upload the picture)

I have been wanting the Naked 2 Palette since I first set my eyes on the Naked Palette a year or two ago. After the Naked 3 release I was wondering whether to get that or not, though I wasn't too keen on the slightly rose tinted shades. Overall, Naked 2 is definately better for an everyday look unlike Naked which is perfect for nights out. The one put off of the Naked 2 was the lipgloss, although, don't get me wrong it's a lovely shade and not too sticky I definately would have prefered the eye primer. However I decided the packaging of the Naked was not the best idea, due to it constantly collection dust on the store displays!
All shades of the Naked 2 are completely wearable and beautiful neutrals, however "Blackout" is very dark and slightly less pigmented than the other colours.

I had been eyeing up the Sleek Face Form Palette since they introduced it into my local Superdrug, though just went for the Single Blush in "Rose Gold" instead. For £9.99 it's a bargain which I should have realised earlier! It includes a Bronzer, Powder Highlighter and Blush (In shade Rose Gold conincidentally!) Although I got this for my birthday in June I have recently been using it loads over the holidays, though unfortunately my highlighter has nearly hit pan *cue tears*

I have only recently found out about the infamous Tangle Teezer in the last year or so, after wondering why so many of my classmates were continously brushing their hair which seemed like a Horse Grooming brush and finally after several months realising that it was not in fact a brush for animals but a Tangle Teezer. I'm always losing my brushes and my hair is really sensitive to Brushes, even though I have thick hair most of the bristles on brushes kill the roots of my hair and is actually a physically painful experience just to brush my hair, silly, I know) So I thought I might give it a go and after buying it I don't think I'll ever look back. The bristles are soft, but hard enough to brush away all the tangles in your hair, and come in all different shapes and sizes and are very portable. Although for a brush it may seem a lot (especially due to the size of it and also the more expensive and smaller ones) though it is definately worth the money. Plus, Amazon also do many good deals on them, so if you're lucky you can get one for around £7 - £9, rather than the £10.99 RRP.

(Picture Credit to ISimplyLoveMakeup) I always find it hard picking out perfumes, for me, I find a good perfume is essential and has to both smell good and look good. After hearing about all the Jo Malone hype I decided to go along to John Lewis and try them out. The shop itself is beautiful though I was not to keen on the scents so decided to give it a miss. I then saw both the Miss Dior and Chloe Perfumes and knew that I HAD to buy one of them. They both were packaged beautifully and both smelt divine though I finally chose Miss Dior. The Notes are as follow:

Top notes- Italian mandarin.
Heart- Egyptian jasmine absolute and rose.
Base- Patchouli and musk.

The Perfume is crafted beautifully with a blend of fruit, amber and vanilla making an amazing "ooh la la" scent.

Last but not least, Soap and Glorys' "Butter Yourself Moisture Lotion" If like me you suffer from very dry skin than this is the perfect moisturiser for you. After recieving this in "The Yule Monty Gift Set" (which most of you will know about) I was very eager to try this product out. It works best after a shower/bath and is the most amazing smell ever. As I searched the product up I found many reviews on the Body Butter Version, however if like me you are too lazy to use them (It does involve a lot of effort opening a lid I have you know) then this is worth the spend. Although for £10 it may seem a tad overpriced, for the quality and quantity (500ml) it is definately worth the spend.

I hope you liked the December Favourites, sorry for the lack of pictures and editing, I kept forgetting to take pictures and upload etc. Hopefully I will do more but remember to follow, like etc and check out my youtube @bu
